Church or Cult?

If you live in today’s society, you have most likely heard of the Westboro Baptist Church. Aka God Hates F**s church. (I starred that because as the best friend and practical sister of three bisexual girls, so I find that hate speech) if not, they are a cult masquerading around as a church and protest at dead soldiers funerals, churches, and Lady Gaga concerts. Yes, Lady Gaga concerts. Why? Because she is a “whore who is spreading her filth.”

Here is what you need to know about this “church.” They are ran by an elder named Fred Phelps who is full of the most hate. He hates Jews, Gays, Muslims, America, pretty much everyone who isn’t a member of their church. What he does is preach hate. Simple as that. so pretty much, everybody but them is screwed over and all going to Hell.  They protest at churches, funerals, mosques and many more. They burn flags, they burn the Koran. They do pretty much everything that would make your stomach turn.

In my years as a Christian, I know that the Bible is a book of contradictions, and my personal belief is that if I follow the Ten Commandments, live the best life possible, and do my best to be a decent person and not hurt other people, then i am going to Heaven.

 These people call themselves servants of God, when all they do is preach hate!

Fred Phelps’s daughter, Shirley Phelps-Roper, blames everything on our society being so tolerant of homosexuality. 9-11 happened because of that. Virginia Tech happened because of that. The space shuttle blowing up was because of that. She takes her two oldest daughters, Megan and Bekah on talk shows, to classrooms, to press conferences all just to preach about how America is doomed because of our tolerance. If we are not F**s, we are F** Enablers. That label is true when it comes to me. My best friends are considered F**s because they have dated girls before. I have not harassed them and never told them that “they are going to Hell” because I honestly don’t believe they are. They are all Christians. They all love God. And they all are leading the best life possible.

Now, according to them, I am going to hell because:

1.       I don’t preach to my bi friends that they're going to hell.

2.       I once stole a piece of candy from my cousin Cruise. (sorry dude, I don’t think you remember, but, yeah, that happened)

3.       I killed a bug, (well, numerous bugs, and spiders, spiders scare me)

4.       I believe in gay rights

5.       I am a huge fan of All Time Low (mentioned on one of their websites as a terrible band who is teaching nothing but sin)

6.       I don’t go to church (dont believe in organized religion, my relationship is between me and God, no one else, especially a judgemental church who will constantly tell me i am going to Hell because i am ok with my best friends being Bi)

7.       I am getting a tattoo (cant mark up your body)

8.       I used to cut myself (cant mark up your body)

9.       I called my brother a dumbass

10.   I use my writing skills for the school magazine to advertise breaking the hate.

11.   I have a Catholic friend who I don’t preach how he is a pedophile and is going to hell (don’t worry Nolan, you are amazing and your Catholicness is awesome, hopefully you can be the Pope one day like your dreams)

Pride on facebook and his friend Canyon Shearer who claim to be like you guys and harrassed one of my closest friends Hailie on her video of her and our friend Stella singing Born This Way by Lady Gaga in memory of her late sister, Camilla who did commit suicide October 20, 2007 after being brutally harassed at school for being a lesbian. Hailie was eleven years old and was the one who found her after she overdosed on pills)

But, what I want to know is how Shirley can just sit there and preach how we are all doomed when she did one of the worst thing in their churches eyes! She had sex outside of marriage and got knocked up!

Yes, preacher’s daughter, Shirley Phelps-Roper, the one preaching to us about how our generation is full of underage premarital sex is making us all go to Hell, went out and got herself knocked up. Not much is known about this child, except he isn’t around anymore and she doesn’t even acknowledge him as her son. So, since she sinned and according to her, someone who does that is going to Hell, then guess where she is headed according to her beliefs. Hell.

So, so far in Hell right now we have me, Shirley, my three bi friends, my Catholic pal Nolan, the two Muslims I know from school, and pretty much everyone else in society.

So Shirley, tell me, why don’t you practice what you preach! We are all doomed yet you aren’t, even though you had a child out of wedlock, and I support equality, am a straight virgin, who does her best to be the best person she can be? Why is it you? Why do you get to go to Heaven when I am not? All I do is support equality and be a decent person who doesn't judge people? (yes, i may judge you, but that is because you guys actually do stuff that is wrong, and full of hate and evil, and by the way, you judge too, everyone does, it is human nature) 

Honestly, I don’t think anyone in the WBC deserves to go to Heaven, but I am not God, therefore, I cannot make this judgment. Only God has the list and knows for sure. Hey Shirley, you even mentioned that in a lecture at Central Michigan University when you and your two daughters were speaking. You also said a lot of other things in that lecture that didn’t make sense. (I know this because it was on YouTube, gotta love YouTube!) You said that “Priests rape children” therefore, all Catholic’s are going to Hell, when I know for a fact, not every single priest is a pedophile. My friend Nolan has gone to church for what I am pretty sure is most of his life and he has never been molested by the priest. You Shirley are making a huge generalization. That is like me saying that every Muslim is a terrorist (which is probably a bad example, you probably think that all Muslims are terrorists) so it’s more like me saying that all Asians are crazed gunmen (Virginia Tech reference). So Shirley, stop being an ignorant ass like you called the girl who asked you that question.

this "church" claims that everyone is being raised for the devil these days and parents don't love their children because they are doing that. well, Shirley and all of you guys, tell me how this isn't love. the first time i injured myself on purpose to help deal with the emotional pain i was in after years of being bullied, my mom held me while i cried and told me that she loved me and that she just wanted me to be happy and that i meant the world to her. or how about when i slashed up my wrist in the bathroom at school with a pencil sharpener because of the emotional pain i was in and she rushed to my school, picked me up and cried with me telling me that she loved me and she wants me to be happy and healthy. or how about this Shirley, how about when i walked away from her July 5, 2011 and walked with a nurse into the adolecent unit at a pyschiatric hospital -where i would be for the next week learning how to not hurt myself- and she cried with me repeatedly calling out to me that she loved me, and that everything would be ok, that i was going to get better. how is that my mother not loving me and hating me?

one point i would love to make before i end this, is that the Bible is a book full of contridictions. it says to that if a "priests daughter is a prostotute," we need to "burn her at stake" but then, in the Ten Commandments, it says "Thou Shall Not Kill." so therefore, people not burning prostotutes at stake is not following the Bible, but yet not doing it is following one of The Ten Commandments, that "Thou Shall Not Kill." so by not doing that, we are following the bible, and then not following it, making it a contridiction. the bible is full of those. which do we follow? well, i am pretty sure that the Ten Commandments are what is best, so therefore, if i find a preachers daughter who just so happens to be a prostotute, i dont burn her at stake.

Shirley, you claim that you love homosexuals more then anyone and you love them so much that you warn them they are going to Hell, (you stated so on the Tyra show), well, by defination, Love is described as this: a profound tender, passionate affection for another person. a feeling of warm personal attachment and deep affection as for a parents, child or friend. a person toward whom love is felt. to have affection for. etc. the defination of hate is: to dislike intensely or passionately, feel extreme aversion for or extreme hostility toward, detest. so, which one is how you really feel about homosexuals and gays, hate. that is the way you treat them, dont go up making your own definiation of love to fit the way you treat gays. that is like me going out and changing the defination of pony to a short, scaly lizard that likes to eat unicorn fluff. not true.

Here is one thing that confuses me. Your sister or some chick related to you (because you’re who freaking church is mostly your family stated that you guys) won the lawsuit because it was “God’s will.” God controls everything in this world. So wouldn’t that mean everything is His will, Obama getting elected (your antichrist), gays being allowed to marry in Washington State (yay! Something we are known for that isn’t lame!), God’s will that people are even gay in the in the first place? Would it still be God’s will if someone came into your church with a loaded gun and gunned all you down? Do to their logic, it would be God’s will, but it wouldn’t be because its them. Because they say they are the only ones who are going to heaven.

Do they even know that they protest the funerals of people who died fighting for their right to free speech? they go to war and protect our rights, and you guys just go and protest funerals of the people fighting to keep you safe? Well, that is just amazing logic, don’t you think? Wait, they have logic, what? No. no they do not.

All these people do is spread their hate! God hates F**s, God hates Muslims; God hates Jews, thank God for 9-11. Thank God for dead soldiers. God hated American.

If God hates America so much and we are such a doomed nation, why don’t you just get the hell out of our “doomed nation” and somewhere less doomed? I hear Antarctica is available. Maybe while you’re down there, you can preach some hate to the penguins, not that they would understand any of that. but maybe if we were lucky, they would freeze to death. Ok, that wasn’t very nice. But I would just settle for these crazies to leave America.

America would be less doomed without them here and maybe I wouldn’t be as embarrassed to share the same country as them. Oh well. All we can do is hope they will stop with the hate and start spreading the love.

One can only hope.
